"Carat" is the internationally recognised unit in which the weight of a diamond or gemstone is measured. One carat corresponds to exactly 200 milligrams or 0.2 grams. Diamonds that are graded "I" according to the GIA have a very slight colour. However, they are still in the "near colourless" category. When set in jewellery, "I" diamonds appear colourless. They are an extremely good choice for anyone who wants a radiant diamond but is prepared to make slight compromises in terms of colour.

Clarity: VS2

A diamond of purity grade "VS2" has such clear inclusions under 10x magnification that they can even be recognised by the naked eye. The inclusions are larger or more numerous than in VS1 diamonds and are particularly easy to recognise when they are located on larger diamonds or open facets. Nevertheless, VS2 diamonds still offer impressive clarity and brilliance with a good balance between price and quality.

Cut:

The cut of a diamond determines the brilliance, i.e. how strongly a diamond sparkles. The cut is therefore not, as is often confused, the shape of the stone. The cut quality is determined on the basis of three criteria: Polish (polish), symmetry (symmetry) and the cut proportions. For some cut shapes, the "cut grade" value also counts. If a diamond is cut too shallow or deep, it loses brilliance due to fewer reflections on the side facets.
