"Carat" is the internationally recognised unit in which the weight of a diamond or gemstone is measured. One carat corresponds to exactly 200 milligrams or 0.2 grams. Accordingly, a 5-carat diamond weighs 1 gram. The diamond of your choice weighs carats and measures approx. 8.91 - 8.95 x 5.33 mm.

Diamanten, deren Farbstufe von GIA mit dem Grad „E“ bewertet wurde, sind farblos oder hochfein weiß und liegen direkt hinter der bestbewerteten Stufe „D“ auf der Farbskala. Sie bewegen sich in der höchsten Kategorie „colorless“. Der Farbunterschied zum höchsten Grad ist nur für professionelle Gemmolog:innen im Vergleich mit Mustersteinen erkennbar. Diamanten der Farbstufe „E“ zählen damit zu den wertvollsten Exemplaren, was die Farbe angeht.

Clarity: VVS1

Diamanten der Reinheitsstufe „VVS1“ weisen lediglich winzige Einschlüsse auf, die selbst unter 10-facher Vergrößerung äußerst schwer erkennbar sind. Die Einschlüsse nehmen nur minimalen Einfluss auf die Brillanz und den Wert des Diamanten, da sie sich meist am Rand befinden – für das bloße Auge in der Regel unsichtbar. Diamanten der Stufe VVS1 gelten daher noch immer als besonders rein.

Cut:

The cut of a diamond determines the brilliance, i.e. how strongly a diamond sparkles. The cut is therefore not, as is often confused, the shape of the stone. The cut quality is determined on the basis of three criteria: Polish (polish), symmetry (symmetry) and the cut proportions. For some cut shapes, the "cut grade" value also counts. If a diamond is cut too shallow or deep, it loses brilliance due to fewer reflections on the side facets.
