Cut Grade

The cut is the most important criterion for a diamond’s brilliance. It is often confused with the shape of the stone, such as brilliant, cushion or drop. However, the "cut" criterion is actually about the quality of the cut, i.e. symmetry, proportions and polish. An diamond with the optimum cut ensures the greatest possible brilliance by perfectly reflecting the incident light. If a gemstone is cut too deeply or too flat, the incident light is lost on the side facets, affecting the brilliance.
